Welcome to the first episode of Read/WriteTalk. The People Behind the web! I’m your host Sean Ammirati and today’s show will really just be a quick introduction. Next week, we’ll jump into our planed format, which I’ll be explaining shortly.

However, first you’re probably wondering who I am. You’ve probably read some of the pieces I’ve written at Read/WriteWeb. But to give you a little of my background - I’m an entrepreneur with my day job (and actually most of the time night job) being VP of Business Development and Product Management at mSpoke where I’ve been for over four years. I also have spent time at Carnegie Mellon University as a research fellow in the Sloan Software Industry Center and have an undergraduate CS degree from Grove City College.

Maybe a better indication for you is what podcasts I listen to. My iPod right now is loaded up with some recent episodes from the following shows:

  • Calacanis Cast
  • Venture Voice
  • Venture Cast
  • Talk Crunch
  • Across the Sound

You can also learn more by visiting the about section of Read/Write Talk.

Now, let’s talk about the show format. I’ll be releasing shows about once a week. The format of the show will be that I’ll start with a very quick summary up of a few interesting articles on the Read/WriteWeb network for the week and then proceeding to an interview with a thought leader in the web space. Often, I’ll also feature one of the themes from the interview in a post somewhere else on the Read/Write network of sites. The Read/WriteTalk website will be where you can find and download any of the episodes and also review show notes and transcripts.

So a natural question is who are some of the though leaders you’re going to be interviewing? …. Well you’ll have to wait and see - but I’d love to get your creative ideas. So please reach out and contact me! Finally, I should point out that I’m sure we’ll learn a lot as we do the first few of these. However, if there is something that you know we’re doing wrong or could be improved please contact us. You can find a link right on the Read/WriteTalk site.

Please consider subscribing in iTunes or whatever podcatching software you use and I’ll be back next week with the first normal episode.

This is Sean Ammirati from Read/WriteTalk covering the people behind the web! Part of the Read/WriteWeb network of sites.

  1. Dan Grossman says:

Please embed your site name in the mp3 files’ track info, and possibly in the file name as well. Seeing titles like “real intro” and “jasonc” in my music player’s song list doesn’t help me find or organize the files from your site.

  2. Darren Stuart says:

Goodshow. I look forward to the next one.
