On this episode of RWW Live we chat about Mobile Web Development and have guests from Microsoft, Pandora and DevelopmentNow join us.   A lively conversation ensued about building apps for mobile devices.  It was particularly interesting to have everyone (including Loke from Microsoft) talk about how revolutionary the iPhone has been.   Specifically the guests for the call were:

This episode’s topic is Data Portability, the ongoing campaign for open data across the Web. We had an amazing group of Data Portability leaders on this call: Chris Saad (Co-founder, DataPortability.org), Daniela Barbosa (Chair, DataPortability.org), Eran Hammer-Lahav (Open Standards Evangelist, Yahoo), and Angus Logan (Technical Product Manager for Windows Live Platform, Microsoft).  We also had Chris Messina (aka Factory Joe / Leader of DiSo project) dial in.  Obviously, Richard and Marshall joined me for the call.

This week’s topic is online music and we have 3 very special guests on the show to discuss this: Dalton Caldwell, founder and CEO of Imeem; Lucas Gonze, whose startup Webjay was acquired by Yahoo in January 2006; and Rob Williams, Senior Vice President of Music Software at RealNetworks.  The show is hosted by myself and also features Richard MacManus and Marshall Kirkpatrick.The guests brought a wealth of knowledge & experience and we had a great discussion on topics including: how the online music scene has changed over the past year and how it continues to evolve; the killer feature set for online streaming music; and business models.

We’ve changed the format a bit for RWW Live.  Each week we’ll invite a special guest or two and have a discussion on a specific theme. We’re hoping that as it’s a live show, readers will be able to contribute questions via chat (we use TalkShoe) in real-time.

For the first such show, the topic is ‘The Future of Blogging’, based on a must-read post that Sarah Perez wrote last week and one Richard wrote a couple of weeks back.

We have two special guests this week. One is Aaron Brazelle of the excellent Technosailor blog. Aaron is the lead editor of Technosailor.com and a social media expert. He served as Director of Technology at b5media from 2005-2008 and is currently an independent consultant. Our other special guest is Muhammed Saleem, an occasional contributor to RWW, a social media consultant and a top-ranked community member on multiple social news sites.

We decided to join the iPhone mania and focus this entire episode on the iPhone.  Steve O’Hear from Last 100 provides some great insight as do Richard MacManus, Marshall Kirkpatrick & Bernard Lunn from ReadWriteWeb.
